Most business owners get into business to make money.  They have a great product or service, they work hard, and they want the freedom of working for themselves.  They are excited!

They are smart people, and because they work hard, they will make it.  Eventually.

There are some choices that can help speed up the process.

If you are interested … one of those key choices many skip over is to create processes and systems for all parts of the business.  And to create (and refine) them before they get "too busy".

So, what are the benefits?

  • If you systemize, then you can gain efficiency.  For example, getting more billable work done in the same number of man-hours. Or getting invoices out and collected more quickly so you can do more billable work.
  • Second, you can train someone to do it for you.  If only 1 person does it all - the process is not scaleable. If you train somebody else, you can leverage and scale the business.  For example, you can increase the number of people doing the billable work, serving more customers while increasing your profit.
  • Third, with enough people, organized and managed effectively, the business can be scaled up to create a passive income for the owner, and ultimately sellable at a great price, when the owner is ready to retire.

The earlier and more passionately you start with that intention, the sooner you can enjoy the benefits.  It is always much harder when you wait until the business gets bigger – because then it is more complicated, there are too many moving parts, and too many urgent excuses that get in the way.

However, there are proven, actionable processes that can be applied to make this step easier.
